                   Bob Albee

Robert Albee co-founded, along with Gordon Thayer, the American Indian Community Development Corporation (AICDC) in 1992, retiring in 2007. Earlier in his career, he worked in television production at TPT and was the first paid staff person for KFAI-FM.

He later took the lead with the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin in developing a 100,000-watt public radio station, WOJB-FM.

After having a successful career in the broadcast field, Robert turned to print media, edited the LCO Journal newspaper and used his skills learned on the reservation to assist more than 30 weekly newspapers in Minnesota and Wisconsin to become computerized publishers.

Robert has also specialized in grant writing and preparing documents needed for start-up organizations, and has written approximately $40 million in grants.

Earning a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of South Dakota, he is a former Peace Corps volunteer, schoolteacher and graphic artist.

Robert is a resident of the Ventura Village Neighborhood and is currently working with all four Phillips Community Neighborhoods in organizing and community development work. He has served for more than eight years as an elected member of the Ventura Village Board.

In 2007, he joined Fanfare Attractions in creating new paradigms for community support of arts festivals

featuring emerging display and performing artists.
